We seek two highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellows with recent PhD degree to join our research team. Our research program is centered on gaining a better understanding of the fundamental molecular mechanisms of gene transcription in biology and their implications in human diseases, including cancers and inflammatory diseases. Using a structural mechanism-guided strategy, we design and develop novel chemical compounds to modulate cell-type specific gene transcription. Our current research focuses on identifying new drug targets and transcriptional mechanisms involved in pathogenesis of solid tumors, adaptive immune T-cell development, and Th17 and Th2 pathogenicity in inflammatory disorders including Alzheimer’s disease. These research projects, funded through the National Institutes of Health, will be conducted under the guidance of Dr. Ming-Ming Zhou and Dr. KaLung (William) Cheung in the Department of Pharmacological Sciences in Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Qualifications: Strong candidates should have research expertise in structural/chemical biology, chromatin biology, or immunology. Experience in protein biochemistry and molecular biology is a plus. A recent publication record in related areas will also be valued. Ideal candidates are quick learners, highly motivated, collaborative, and rigorous in experimental execution, data analysis and organization. Effective communication skills, both written and oral, in an interdisciplinary and dynamic research environment are essential.

Apply: To be considered, please submit your CV and research statement along with names of three references to [email protected] and [email protected].
